Terms of Service

Legal entity status: No legal entity has been registered for Hopwell. The operator has not yet supplied a company name, address, or jurisdiction. These terms are provided as a statement of intent and will be formally adopted once a legal entity is registered. Until then, these terms do not constitute a binding legal agreement.

1. Billing and payments

No payment infrastructure is currently connected to this site. The checkout form on the Pricing page is a design demo only — no real payment is taken, no subscription is created, and no card is charged.

Hopwell is provided free of charge for all core functionality. The Pro ($9/month) and Enterprise ($49/month) plans shown on the Pricing page are proposed pricing — these tiers are not yet built and not yet available for purchase. No payment obligation exists for any user today.

If paid tiers become available in future

If Pro or Enterprise tiers are introduced (as outlined on the Pricing page), the following will apply:

What you buy: A subscription to a specific plan (e.g. Pro or Enterprise) granting access to the features described on the Pricing page at the time of purchase.
Price: The price displayed on the Pricing page at the moment you subscribe. Prices may change for new subscribers; existing subscribers are grandfathered at the price they agreed to for the duration of their current billing period.
Billing period: Monthly, billed in advance on the day you subscribe (or annually at a discounted rate, if offered). The first payment is due at sign-up.
Failed payments: If a payment method declines, we will retry the charge up to three times over the following five days. If all retries fail, access to paid features is suspended until payment succeeds. Continued non-payment after 14 days results in account downgrade to the Free tier.
Cancellation: You may cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you do not lose access to paid features until the period ends.
Refunds: No refunds for partial billing periods. If the service is unavailable due to a material defect on our side for more than 48 consecutive hours, you may request a pro-rata credit applied to the next billing period. No cash refunds.

None of the above is in effect today — no payment processor is connected, no paid tiers are operational, and no billing relationships exist.

2. Service description

Hopwell is a URL redirect chain tracer. It accepts a URL submitted through a web form and returns the full chain of HTTP redirects that the URL passes through. The service is provided free of charge, with no account registration required and no user data stored.

3. Acceptable use

You agree to use Hopwell only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these terms. You may not:

Use Hopwell to probe or scan internal networks, private IP addresses, or loopback addresses.
Submit URLs that contain embedded credentials (user:pass@host).
Attempt to use the service for denial-of-service attacks or to amplify traffic to third-party servers.
Automate requests to the API at a rate that degrades service for other users.
Reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the API.

4. Intellectual property

The Hopwell name, logo (three connected circles), and visual design are the property of the operator. The service is provided for use, not for reproduction or redistribution.

5. Disclaimer of warranties

Hopwell is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranty, express or implied. The operator does not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the redirect chain results will be complete or accurate in all cases.

Specifically, some hosts behind Cloudflare may show as unreachable when probed; the redirect chain may terminate early at a network error; and loop detection and parameter-change detection depend on the server's response headers.

6. Limitation of liability

In no event shall the operator be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to the use of Hopwell, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

7. Changes to terms

The operator reserves the right to modify these terms at any time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of Hopwell after a change constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

8. Governing law

These terms are not currently governed by any specific jurisdiction, as no legal entity has been registered. Once a jurisdiction is established, these terms will be updated to reflect the applicable governing law.
